What is LoRaWAN?

LoRa stands for long range and is a specification for a WAN (Wide Area Network). The equipment occasionally transfers some data and therefore does not require a constant internet connection. The connection has a range of 2.5 to 15 km per mast. The speed of the connection is between 0.3 and 50 kbits/s. In addition, the battery also lasts a very long time.
How does the LoRA communication work?
The LoRa technology consists of gateways, network servers and application servers. Radio frequency chips transmit a spread spectrum. A spread spectrum is a form of wireless communication in which the energy of the signal is deliberately spread over a specific frequency domain. These signals have a much larger bandwidth than the information they contain. As a result, the signal is noisy and difficult to detect or intercept.
